1. Explore the Omaha Children’s Museum.

If you’re looking for things to do in winter with your children, check out the Omaha Children’s Museum. There are limitless possibilities for fun and learning at this museum. It has daily educational programs that teach kids about science and makes basic cooking lessons fun. 

Your kids can express themselves through dance or painting at the Art Smart Center, or try whatever career they dream of at the Future Me exhibit. 

The Omaha Children’s Museum hosts special themed events, too. Whether it’s playing on a giant Candyland Board or celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day, the events and magic of this museum seem endless. 

2. Catch a game at CHI Health Center. 

The CHI Health Center is home to many sporting and other events throughout the year. You can watch a Creighton Blue Jays NCAA basketball game, wrestling tournaments, or family events like Disney on Ice. Visit their website to view and book upcoming events.

5. Laugh or cry at the Rose Theater. 

The Rose Theater has been a source of entertainment for families for over half a century! Whether you want to enjoy a show or enroll your child in classes, this theater can meet your needs.

The Rose Theater is wheelchair accessible for those with mobility disabilities and has wheelchair-accessible restrooms on the lower level and the mezzanine. Select performances offer American Sign Language services. Others are sensory-friendly shows so every kid can enjoy seeing a musical or play.  

6. Get a strike at The Mark.

8. Let their inner artist out at It’s Yours Pottery 

It’s Yours Pottery allows your child to get creative by painting their own ceramics. The studio offers various crafting options, including pottery, candle-making, and clay hand-building. The fourth Friday of every month is Kids’ Night Out, and it’s two hours of fun that includes pizza!
